"BE ADJUSTABLE"

Scripture:  Philippians 4:11-12

Recently I had to do some work on one of the appliances in our home. It was a simple task but I did not have a wrench that would fit the tiny bolt that I needed to remove. After trying every tool I could get my hands on, I finally found an adjustable wrench. I turned the adjuster until I had it at the right width to fit around the bolt. There were many other wrenches in the tool box but the only one that I was able to use was the one that was adjustable.

The Apostle Paul was a great leader in Christendom. One of the things that made him great was his adjustability. Paul had been a devout Jew and knew how to live the life of Judaism. On the other extreme, he knew how to mingle with the Gentiles and convince them to accept the teachings of Jesus. Throughout the book of Acts we read about him experiencing every imaginable situation.  He even testified, "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: Everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need." Paul was adjustable.

We are in a season that God is using those who are adjustable. It has been said that "Sometimes God calms the storm; Sometimes God calms the sailor; but sometimes He makes us swim." Whatever He does, adjust to it so He can use you.
