"LOL"

Scripture: Genesis 21:6

I recently appeared on Family Feud with my family. I was the first to go up before Steve Harvey to answer the question of those surveyed. The question was asked and I hit the buzzer. The answer that I gave was not among the seven top answers from those surveyed and up pops the dreaded X and the sound of the annoying buzzer. After the show was aired, the video went viral over social media. I received phone calls, text messages, Facebook posts, tweets, and other expressions of laughter as people around the world laughed with me. Many of those who sent messages would say "I am not laughing at you, I am laughing with you."

The only way that people can laugh with you is if you will laugh at yourself. William Arthur Ward said "to make mistakes is human; to stumble is commonplace; to be able to laugh at yourself is maturity". Laughing at yourself makes people more comfortable being around you. It relieves worry and tension and the medical field suggests that it also leads to better health.

We all know people who we have to handle so delicately. If they do something silly and we laugh, they are easily offended. One of the greatest gifts that God has given us is the gift of laughter. Even Sarah said that "God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me." Life is much more pleasant when you learn to laugh at yourself. Don't just text it. Do it. LOL.
