"SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED"

Scriptures: Hebrews 10:25

Whenever I visit a retailer to make a purchase, I do not want to leave the store and then go home and spend hours putting it together. I would prefer they sell me the floor model than to make that dreadful trip to the back and bring me some huge box with those words "some assembly required" written on the outside. While the words do not excite me, in most cases it is the only way that I am going to get the product that I want so I must do what is necessary.

Those words seem to be dreadful, not just in the sense of retail shopping, but Christians have not realized that in order to live a successful Christian life, some assembly is required. The writer of Hebrews admonishes the church by writing "not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." According to the Hartford Institute of Religion Research, more than 40 percent of Americans "say" they go to church weekly. As it turns out, however, less than 20 percent are actually in church.

The condition of our world continues to decline and much of it is due to forsaking of the assembly. Research further proves that attending church regularly is good for you. It boosts the immune system and has been said to even lower blood pressure. If you want to see an improvement in your life, some assembly is required.
