"LEARN TO BE HUMBLE"

Scripture:  2 Chronicles 7:14

"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves............................."

Would it surprise you to know that God does not make us humble? Becoming humble is our own individual responsibility. Humility is a trait that we have to work at achieving every single day. As we do, we must recognize that God will present situations that give us the opportunity to practice.

God will give you opportunities to do a task that someone else should have done. The test of humility is for you to do it and not bring attention to yourself afterwards. Being humble means that you don't have to receive the credit. Learn to work for a cause, not for applause.
God will allow you to make major mistakes in life even though you are not ignorant or incompetent. He orchestrates the mistake to give you the opportunity to admit that you are wrong. "When you've done something wrong, admit it and be sorry. No one has ever choked to death from swallowing pride."

You will be placed in settings where you are not the sharpest knife in the drawer. This is the time to listen rather than talk. It is a great blessing to be in a meeting and the discussion is over your head. In such settings, the proud person is bored but the humble person is learning.

G.K. Chesterton says "humility is the mother of giants." There is a giant in you but he will only be developed through humility. Learn to be humble.
