"DON'T SETTLE FOR LESS. JUST DO IT"

Scripture: 2 Samuel 3:18

"Now then do it......"(KJV)

David served as King of Judah for 7 ½ years after the death of King Saul. Being King of Judah was not his ultimate goal as it did not coincide with the promise that God had given him. He was promised that he would be King of all of Israel, including Judah. After the death of Saul, the enemy made an attempt to abort the plan and they made Ishbosheth King of Israel having eleven tribes and left David as King of Judah with only one tribe. Following the death of Ishbosheth, Abner went to the people of Israel and reminded them that David was to be their King and it was time to make it happen. He tells them, "Now then do it."

Israel felt that there were good reasons why David had not become their King. Abner challenges them to forget all the reasons why it had not been done in the past; find one reason to do it now and proceed.  "Now then do it" says Abner. People who dwell on negative reasons rarely have positive results.

David and Israel had to confront the sin of "settling". Never settle for where you are unless it is the place God promised that you would be. When you settle, you accept less than you deserve. God has favored you with a promise and now is the time for you to devote yourself and make it happen.  Don't settle for less. Now then, do it.
