"HOLD ON TO YOUR WORD"

Scripture: Luke 8: 22-25

Jesus instructed the disciples to get into a ship and go to the other side. As they were traveling a storm arose and the water began to fill the ship. By all indications the disciples were headed for disaster. Jesus had retreated to the lower part of the ship and was asleep. The disciples woke him up and Jesus caused the sea to calm but then he rebuked the disciples for their lack of faith. The disciples had forgotten the word that He had given them, "let us go over unto the other side." Even if a storm did arise, it would not be able to successfully abort what the master had spoken.

The storm was not a surprise to Jesus. He knew that the storm was coming when He told them to get into the ship. He also knew the storm was coming when he said "let us go over to the other side." The storm did not change His word. If there is a word that the Lord has given you, hold on to it. If there is a promise that He has made, his promise is not altered by circumstances. Don't look for God to say something different because the wind is blowing and the lighting is flashing. The immutable God has already spoken and He cannot change what he said.

This is not the time for you to question whether or not you have missed God. Your logical reconsiderations are a trick of the enemy. It was by faith that you heard Him in the first place and it must be by that same faith that you hold on to your word. "Let us go over to the other side" does not mean there will not be bumps, potholes, and maybe even accidents. But if God says you are going to the other side, then that's exactly where you are going. Holla at me when you get there.
