"PUT YOUR HANDS TO IT"

Proverbs 30:28

"The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces"

Solomon was anointed to observe God's creation and teach wisdom lessons to those who would seek it. In Proverbs 30, he uses four small things and explains how wise they are. He uses ants, conies, locusts, and spiders. He taught that the ant is not a strong insect but wise enough to prepare its meat in the summer. Since the conies know they are feeble, they are wise enough to build their houses in the rocks. There is no such thing as a leading locust so they are wise enough to form bands to get the work done. Then there is the spider that often crawls on the ground but is not intimidated by the splendor of the king's palace. There is a drive in the spider and it has the audacity to weave a web in the king's palace.

Solomon taught these lessons to encourage his mentees to strive for the best. The spider does not wish upon a web nor does it just have web dreams. According to Solomon, it "taketh hold with her hands". The silk that it needs to form the web is already inside of the spider. The spider is not limited by anything. Once she puts her hands to it, what's inside comes out and she can take residence in the king's palace.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 reads "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might." If you are willing to "taketh hold with your hands", even the king's palace is not off limits.
