Ezekiel 37:14
"I will place my breath in you, and you will live............." (NET)
Deuteronomy 28:13
"................the LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you will always be on top and never at the bottom." (NLT)
Those of you who take old fashion baths in a tub may know that most soaps sink to the bottom and you have to keep feeling around to find them. That's not the case when you use Ivory soap because it will not sink. According to an article written by Karl Smallwood "the soap is produced in such a way as to ensure air is whipped into the soap mixture before it sets; as a result, the final product contains numerous tiny air bubbles which work together to make the soap ever so slightly less dense than water, allowing it to float." The air in Ivory soap keeps it from sinking to the bottom.
Wind and breath are two common synonyms for air. Just as air causes Ivory soap to float, so does the wind of God or the breath of God give us what we need to stay afloat.
Is there anything in life that is trying to pull you to the bottom? These two scriptures promise that God will put His breath in you so that you can live. The second text promises that you will always be on top and never at the bottom. Even when Ivory soap is pushed to the bottom, it rises back to the top. You too have been built for the top.
