"ALWAYS TREAT PEOPLE RIGHT" Scripture: Luke 6:31 Jesus said in this verse "Treat others just as you want to be treated." Without committing the sin of eisegeting the text, may I simply add "treat others just as you want to be treated but learn to appreciate them even if they do not." Clearly, scripture encourages us to treat people as we would like to be treated; however, the test of spirituality and growth is when you receive treatment that is very different from the treatment you gave. The life of Jesus is proof that we are not always treated by others as we treat them. Jesus never mistreated anyone but the scripture is loaded with documentation of his mistreatment. God has divinely placed people in your life that will not treat you as you treat them. Their purpose is to make you stronger and they do not even realize that they are. You will not realize it either if you become bitter and start treating them the same way they treat you. Zig Ziglar said "there will always be people in life who treat you wrong. Be sure to thank them for making you strong." |
