"THANK GOD FOR OUR INTERCESSOR"

Scripture:  Romans 8:26

"... the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us......." Romans 8:26 (NKJV)"

I was in a specialty shop the other day to purchase a particular item. The store did not have what I needed but was kind enough to do a Google search to find another competitor that might. After getting the number from the clerk, I called the competitor and discovered that the person who answered could not speak English.

As if the person I had called could see my hand movements, I was literally demonstrating what I was looking for. The clerk heard me ask the person on the phone if they spoke English. At that point, the clerk says, "I speak several languages; can I speak with them for you?" He took my phone and the two of them spoke and off to the other store I went.

The clerk reminded me of an amazing role that Jesus plays in the life of Christians. As I stood unable to effectively express my desire, the clerk volunteered to speak for me. That is exactly what Jesus does every day of our lives. Paul told the Roman Church that the influence of our humanity imposes a certain level of ignorance regarding prayer. "For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us." Thank God for our intercessor.
