"AN UNCOMFORTABLE POSITION"

Scripture:Proverbs 6:4 (NLT)

Don't put it off; do it now!.......(NLT)

Recently I conducted a teaching session with the children's ministry of our Church. I started the session by standing in front of them with my microphone and teaching as I normally would. I asked the children how they wanted me to teach and one of them shouted "criss cross applesauce" and they all raced to the front of the room and sat in the floor. Immediately I knew I was in trouble when they easily took the lotus position and waited for me to do the same. Since I love children and teaching, at a much slower pace than they had done and to the sounds of cracking bones, I criss-crossed applesauce and took the lotus position on the floor.

It's a lot easier to sit in a lotus position when you are nine years old than it is when you are fifty-nine but I did it. I was extremely uncomfortable initially but the longer I sat there enjoying their company, the more comfortable I became.

Have you ever been challenged to do something but because it was uncomfortable you refused to try? When we avoid being uncomfortable we simultaneously abandon the greatest successes we could ever have. If we would allow ourselves to be uncomfortable for a period of time, we will find that we adjust and it actually becomes comfortable.

Chalene Johnson says "Get comfortable being uncomfortable. That's how you break the plateau and reach the next level." Don't put it off; do it now!
